Plastic over seat covers

In Mumbai (maybe everywhere) a new car will always be sold with thin plastic sheets on the seats and till the time it actually tears on its own, no one removes them. Inspite of spending about INR 5000/- for the special seat covers…they still actually sit on plastic sheet!!! Why?????

Elevators

Ever notice while waiting for an elevator…how impatient people press both the buttons for the elevator to go up as well as go down…I sometimes wonder whether they are actually ignorant or simply foolish to do such a thing. As if pressing the ‘down’ button will make the elevator come down to this floor and take them ‘up’. In any case that is not going to happen so why simply delay the process and get worked up further. Another thing I have noticed is that they keep pressing the call button numerous times…as if the elevator which is on another floor will kick out the people and come down specially for them!! Crazy…God give them patience…but please hurry!!

Bplan competition

October 5th , Midnight, I was attending an Id party thrown by a friend, I received a call from a dear friend, Jagan (Juggy). He was like ranting off non-stop that there is B-Plan competition going on for which the last date is Oct’06 midnight, do you want to submit your plan, Maddy & Abi said that it cannot get completed in 24 hours, do you still want to do it? There is a format that you need to adhere to, you need to upload it on the web and you have just 24 hours….

Well of course I want to submit my business plan…how else do I know if it is worth it. So what I don’t have a business plan yet but it is all there in my head…how much time will it take to put it on paper?? Next 10 minutes are spent convincing Maddy & Abi…a job well done…they accept that we need to submit it for the competition else we don’t know when we will get a chance. But all of us have to work the next day!! Aaaahhh!! We all decide to work only for half a day and then get together for the B-Plan. Not waiting for the next day,  Juggy got working on his B-Plan & me on my concept…we work till 4:30 am and then call it a night (or should I say call it a day?)…got to get some sleep before going to office.

Not everyone can make it after half a day’s work – Juggy & myself meet around 3:00 pm and get to work…joined by Maddy & Abi by around 6:00pm…no worries (I think)…plenty of time… Next 6 hours was  a crazy time, thinking of the flow of ideas, correcting grammatical mistakes and hoping that everything that we do is perfect. The corrections went on till the last second of the deadline…but finally the deed is done. We managed to submit an entire B-Plan in less than 24 hours. Whether it is shortlisted or not is another story but we managed to clear the first step. Now we can hope to get an opportunity to participate in the second phase…if we would not have tried submitting the plan, we wouldn’t have any hope left!! These 24 hours were well spent and now we can hope for a month for a positive outcome.

Reminded of my days in Rotaract, where working late nights on project deadlines was such a common thing. Enjoyed my time there…enjoyed my time yesterday as well.

Great work guys!! And thanks for this nostalgic experience.

Terrorism in India - 2

Today again there was a case of serial blasts…this time in Bangalore, the IT capital of India. While I was pondering on the choice of curses, someone was praying that god give them something…SOME SENSE…

And now instead of cursing, I am also praying for them…not just SOME SENSE …but LOTS OF IT…And GOD PLEASE HURRY

Terrorism in India

Like almost everyone else, I too hate terrorism. Just the thought of so much destruction to life and property sends shivers down my spine. Various Mumbai blasts bring back nightmarish memories. These are masterminded by real terrorists. However there are so many other tragedies that happen simply because of the lack of 'Tolerance'...yes tolerance. Tolerance towards other people, culture, religion, caste etc. These are far worse than masterminded terrorist attacks. Cultural clashes have become oh so common. So what am i getting at??

Why do we need terrorists to destroy India? Any common man can start mass violence single handedly...dont believe me?
All one has to do is put a garland of footwear on some leaders statue
A person from any city of India (especially north India) come to Mumbai looking for a job
Wear the national flag in a fashionable way
and the list can go on and on

well these are just some of the ways we are destroying India ourselves...so Why do we need terrorists to do it.
