October 5th , Midnight, I was attending an Id party thrown by a friend, I received a call from a dear friend, Jagan (Juggy). He was like ranting off non-stop that there is B-Plan competition going on for which the last date is Oct’06 midnight, do you want to submit your plan, Maddy & Abi said that it cannot get completed in 24 hours, do you still want to do it? There is a format that you need to adhere to, you need to upload it on the web and you have just 24 hours….
Well of course I want to submit my business plan…how else do I know if it is worth it. So what I don’t have a business plan yet but it is all there in my head…how much time will it take to put it on paper?? Next 10 minutes are spent convincing Maddy & Abi…a job well done…they accept that we need to submit it for the competition else we don’t know when we will get a chance. But all of us have to work the next day!! Aaaahhh!! We all decide to work only for half a day and then get together for the B-Plan. Not waiting for the next day, Juggy got working on his B-Plan & me on my concept…we work till 4:30 am and then call it a night (or should I say call it a day?)…got to get some sleep before going to office.
Not everyone can make it after half a day’s work – Juggy & myself meet around 3:00 pm and get to work…joined by Maddy & Abi by around 6:00pm…no worries (I think)…plenty of time… Next 6 hours was a crazy time, thinking of the flow of ideas, correcting grammatical mistakes and hoping that everything that we do is perfect. The corrections went on till the last second of the deadline…but finally the deed is done. We managed to submit an entire B-Plan in less than 24 hours. Whether it is shortlisted or not is another story but we managed to clear the first step. Now we can hope to get an opportunity to participate in the second phase…if we would not have tried submitting the plan, we wouldn’t have any hope left!! These 24 hours were well spent and now we can hope for a month for a positive outcome.
Reminded of my days in Rotaract, where working late nights on project deadlines was such a common thing. Enjoyed my time there…enjoyed my time yesterday as well.
Great work guys!! And thanks for this nostalgic experience.
